Everything dry you need to make your own fire cider, the traditional folk recipe of pungent roots and herbs steeped in apple cider vinegar. Inside: organic onion, garlic, astragalus root, ginger root, orange peel, turmeric root and chili flakes. The finished cider is hot, sour and garlicky, with orange and ginger coming through as it steeps. Many people take a spoonful a day through the colder months; it's just as good splashed into soups or whisked into a salad dressing.
Directions: place 1/8 to 1/4 cup of the blend in a quart jar. Cover with apple cider vinegar, press the herbs down and shake. Infuse 2 to 5 weeks, shaking daily. Strain, and add honey to taste. Store in a dark cabinet and use within a year.
Ingredients: organic onion, organic garlic, organic astragalus root, organic ginger root, organic orange peel, organic turmeric root, organic chili pepper flakes.
