Plants have been part of our lives for a long time. In 2022, that interest went deeper. We set out to learn foraging and enrolled in a walking herbalism class, expecting to learn which plants native to our region were edible. The class gave us more than that. Along with the edible plants, we learned how each one has been used in herbal tradition, and we came away wanting to share what we were discovering.

Since then, Michael has completed a nine-month herbalism apprenticeship under Sallie Green in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. I didn't formally enroll, but I attended many of the classes alongside him, and I'm continuing my own studies through an online program with Evolutionary Herbalism.

Our greatest source of learning is curiosity: diving down rabbit holes, listening to podcasts, reading books, and attending conferences and herbalism events. Most of all, we learn from experience, building relationships with the plants we love.
